3.1 Service Providers

3.2 Your Uploaded Files and Intellectual Property

You Retain Full Ownership: All 3D models, designs, and files you upload to PartGuys remain your intellectual property. We do not claim any ownership rights to your designs.

Limited Processing License: By uploading files, you grant PartGuys a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use your files solely for:

• • Internal process improvement (anonymized analysis only)

We Will NOT:

• • Share your designs with third parties (except manufacturers fulfilling your order)
• • Use your designs for marketing without your explicit written consent
• • Retain your files longer than necessary (auto-deleted 90 days after order completion)
• • Claim any intellectual property rights to your work

File Deletion: You can request immediate deletion of any uploaded files through your account settings or by contacting support@partguys.io. Files are automatically deleted 90 days after order completion unless you save them to your permanent library.

3.3 Business Partners

For our marketplace features, we may share order information with store owners who fulfill custom product orders. Store owners only receive information necessary to manufacture and ship their products.

3.4 Legal Requirements

We may disclose personal data when required by law or in response to:

• • Court orders, subpoenas, or legal processes
• • Requests from law enforcement or government authorities

3.5 Business Transfers

3.7 Third-Party Service Providers

We share personal data with trusted service providers who help us deliver our services. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for specified purposes.

We Do NOT sell your data: PartGuys has never sold and will never sell your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

Each provider operates under their own privacy policy. We conduct due diligence to ensure they maintain adequate data protection standards.

Superseding Terms:

Your Non-Disclosure Agreement terms supersede this Privacy Policy where conflicts exist. The NDA provides stronger protections for your confidential information.

Restricted Processing:

• • Files used ONLY for manufacturing your specific order
• • NO anonymized analysis or process improvement use
• • NO aggregated data analysis or machine learning training
• • NO retention beyond order completion (unless you explicitly save to library)

Enhanced Access Controls:

• • Files accessible only to authorized personnel directly involved in your order
• • Specific manufacturer approval required before file sharing, except for requests you send through PartGuys Global Source, where circulating the request to vetted suppliers for competing bids is the service itself and your authorization is taken at the intake (see Terms of Service 3.6)
• • Additional encryption and security logging
• • 24-hour breach notification (vs. standard timeframes)

Business Transfer Exception:

NDA-protected files are explicitly excluded from automatic transfer in any merger, acquisition, or asset sale. Such files require your individual written consent before transfer to any successor entity.

Verification:

Your active NDA status is indicated by a green "NDA Protection Active" badge in your account. You can view your NDA agreement details, including reference number and expiration date, in your account settings.

What we collect

When you use the PartGuys CAD designer (cad.partguys.io), we collect what you type, the photos, drawings, scans and CAD files you attach, the designs and programs the designer makes, the ratings and reasons you give, your beta application, and records of usage and AI credits.

Who processes it

• • OpenAI: your requests, and the pictures and drawings you attach, are sent to OpenAI's API to generate each design. OpenAI processes them under its API terms, which say API data is not used to train its models unless the customer opts in.
• • Your browser: the 3D modelling itself runs on your own computer, inside your browser.
• • Our servers: saved designs, attached files, scan repairs and ratings are kept and processed on servers we rent for PartGuys.

How long we keep it

• • Attached pictures and drawings: 7 days, unless a saved design still uses them.
• • Saved designs and their files: until you remove them. Removed designs are deleted 30 days later.
• • Ratings, reasons and the programs that made rated results: kept to improve the designer, unless you ask us to delete them.
• • Credit and usage records: kept with your account records.

Worked examples

A PartGuys staff member may choose the program behind a well-rated result as a worked example that helps the designer with similar requests from other customers. We review it first and remove anything that identifies you. Your uploaded files, drawings and photos are never shared. To keep your designs out of worked examples, or to have your AI design data deleted, email support@partguys.io.

• • No files are shared with third parties except as needed for production

4.4 Payment Security

We do not store complete credit card information on our servers. Payment processing is handled by PCI-DSS compliant payment processors (Stripe) who specialize in secure payment handling.

7.1 What the extension sends

• • Which of its features you used, as plain counts
• • Prices you asked for and their totals, with the technology and material
• • The hostname of the site a model was downloaded from (for example files.printables.com)
• • The file type and size of that model
• • The file name, but only for a model downloaded from a public model site, where that name is already public

7.2 What it does not send

• • Page addresses. We record the hostname only, never the full URL, the path or anything after it
• • The names of files you drag in from your own computer. Those contribute a file type and a size and nothing else
• • Your email address, name or any other contact detail
• • Your IP address. It is replaced with a one-way fingerprint before anything is written down, which lets us count separate networks without being able to identify one

7.3 How events are grouped

A random identifier is created in your browser to group one person's events together. It is generated by the extension, stored only in your browser, and sent to nothing else. It is deliberately not the same identifier your cart uses, so these counts cannot be connected to an order, an email address or a name — not by us and not by anyone reading the data.

7.4 How long they are kept

Usage events are deleted automatically after 180 days.

7.5 Model files

Separately from the counts above, a model file you choose to price or order is sent to PartGuys so that we can quote it and make it. Those files are covered by the rest of this policy in the same way as a file uploaded through our website, including how long we keep them and who can see them.
